Position Summary

The Medical Director provides medical oncology support to advance BostonGene’s mission. Responsible for supporting clinical, commercial, and research efforts focused on delivering value to oncology healthcare providers and patients.

Responsibilities

  • To provide clinical leadership in cross-functional projects and product/project teams
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the overall medical strategy of the assigned product(s) while:
  • Validating this strategy with appropriate internal or external experts
  • Working with the appropriate internal business stakeholders
  • Responsible for the overall project management of assigned programs including the clinical development plan (both pre- and post-marketing activities)
  • Support the Program Alliance Management and Business Development departments to provide subject matter expertise and prompt responses to scientific and clinical testing inquiries from providers and/or patients for oncology needs
  • Collaborate with the current Medical team’s research initiatives requiring advanced medical knowledge that are related but not limited to publications, clinical trials and patient care
  • Partner with BostonGene’s internal teams to develop educational content, medical collateral, and strategic messaging of BostonGene’s product portfolio
  • Provide education and support to raise oncology awareness and support customer accounts
  • Support reimbursement and payer strategic initiatives
  • Participate in and formulate educational strategies for customer accounts Partner with key medical opinion leaders in developing messaging to support the adoption and utilization of comprehensive genomic profiling
  • Provide medical and scientific expertise to oncology-focused project teams
  • Participate in training opportunities to advance knowledge of precision medicine in oncology and good clinical practice guidelines
  • Keep abreast of medical and scientific developments in the designated therapeutic area by continuously reviewing literature in the field, monitoring competitor activities, networking with experts and attending assigned conferences

Qualifications

  • MD or MD/PhD with subspecialty fellowship training in medical oncology and history of board certification
  • 5+ years of experience with substantial knowledge of clinical oncology, clinical trials and clinical research experience within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry in a specific therapeutic area (equivalent academic experience can be substituted)
  • Familiarity with CLIA, LDT, Sunshine Act (2013), AdvaMed Guidelines Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy
  • Exceptional communication skills and experience training and teaching others
