Position Summary

BostonGene is looking to hire a Research Associate to its imaging team in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Under supervision, the role is expected to carry out experiments related to histology, immunohistochemistry, and related immunoassays designed to measure protein biomarkers in patient samples. There will be opportunities to work in cross-functional teams and collaborate with others as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Accessioning and labeling of patient samples, and record keeping
  • Tissue fixation, processing, paraffin embedding, and sectioning
  • Routine Hematoxylin and Eosin staining
  • Perform immunohistochemistry as needed
  • Construct tissue microarray (TMA) blocks
  • Scanning slides into the image database
  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and document all quality control activities
  • Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations

Qualifications

  • Experience with patient sample handling
  • Experience in histology work, including tissue processing, embedding, and sectioning
  • Experience in immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence (desired)
  • Experience in microscopy and/or slide scanners
  • Adept at following protocols and maintaining detailed written records
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • BS degree in a scientific field
  • Minimum 1 year of histology experience in a clinical or research setting
  • HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification desired but not required
