Sr. Director, Strategy

Position Summary

The Senior Director of Strategy will be responsible for providing industry insights and analysis to internal and external customers, engaging with the broader precision medicine industry and working closely with industry analysts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team and to have a chance to make an immediate positive impact at the Content Strategy, Marketing, Product Marketing, Corporate, and M&A level.


  • Content Strategy: Define and shape content strategy which includes whitepaper, website content, Insight blogs, analyst reports, and corporate strategy around growth opportunities and markets. The selected candidate will identify and evaluate market segments, industry trends, technology trends primarily related to Healthcare platforms and applications used by doctors and hospitals for precision cancer therapy.
  • Analysts and Press: Engage closely with leading industry analysts, press, and publications to provide insights into BostonGene’s capabilities and success. Creating and shaping content for analysts’ briefings and reports. Briefing leading press and industry publications on a diverse set of topics from technology, to business and industry insights.
  • Strategic Marketing: Working closely with field and corporate marketing to fine-tune messaging, and support speaking engagements at trade shows and events. Working closely with product management/marketing to deliver customer briefings and engage with executive levels within BostonGene’s customer base to support business development, sales, and product briefings.
  • Product Marketing: Lead the creation of sales enablement tools that will drive sales across the healthcare market. The selected candidate will become the expert in understanding how doctors and healthcare evaluate solutions for purchase. The selected candidate will work with the Product Management team and help transfer knowledge to the sales organization to make them more effective in positioning and selling BostonGene’s solutions and services.
  • Partner Marketing: Lead marketing initiatives with BostonGene’s partners globally with webinars, events (physical or virtual), podcasts, etc. Select candidates will also lead the creation of joint marketing collaterals (white papers, brochures, sales support materials, etc) with key partners
  • M&A: Working closely with Marketing Strategy, product management, and corporate functions (legal, etc.) to identify and screen investment and M&A opportunities in the healthcare industry


  • 7 years in strategic marketing or in a commercial role
  • Significant market research, forecasting, and financial modeling experience in clinical diagnostics and/or NGS markets
  • Prior experience in market/revenue and P&L modeling is required
  • Experience in genetic sequencing, diagnostics, Pharmaceuticals is desirable
  • 3 years Market research and/or competitive intelligence
  • Solid experience in financial modeling
  • Prior experience conducting, analyzing, and communicating qualitative and quantitative market research and VOC
  • Experienced with common forecasting and market research data sources, secondary research, analyst, and company reports, and can conduct primary market research when needed
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to work as part of team environment and individually
  • Demonstrated independence to plan, prioritize, and execute on multiple projects simultaneously, with tight deadlines and changing priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Life Sciences or other related field is required
